LighTopTech is exhibiting at CIOE 2018 in Shenzhen, China as part of the NY State delegation. Come visit us at booth 1A52 on September 5-8, 2018!
Read LighTopTech’s President’s words in an interview by the Rochester Business Journal about our company’s future in improving healthcare through optical biopsies.
LighTopTech was awarded a Phase I SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) grant from the National Science Foundation on April 1, 2018 for an amount of $225,000. The topic of the project is HIGH-DEFINITION, WIDE FIELD OF VIEW CORNEAL IMAGING (1R43EY028827-01).
LighTopTech President Dr. Cristina Canavesi was interviewed by the Rochester Business Journal on April 20th, 2018.
When applied to the world of cancer, Canavesi sees LighTopTech being able to make biopsies almost obsolete. Rather than having to be cut open, have tissue sent to a lab and wait for results, the patient can be put under the microscope and have their results back on the spot. No cuts, no stitches, no pain.
“You won’t have to go through all of that pain and all of that wait,” Canavesi said. “You’d be able to get imaging, no cutting, and get the results right there at the doctor’s office.”
LighTopTech was named one of the finalists in the Luminate Accelerator. On November 8th, 10 teams will be selected to receive a $100,000 investment and enter the 6-month accelerator program. More information on the Luminate website. Come support us at the public showcase on November 8th at 4:00 PM at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Rochester, NY.
Cristina Canavesi will be a panelist in the session “Biophotonics and Optical Technologies” at Light and Sound Interactive 2017. Dr. Canavesi will be speaking about “Optical Coherence Microscopy and Optical Biopsy.”
The panel takes place at 4:00-5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 13th, 2017, at the Convention Center in Rochester, NY.
During the 2017/2018 Academic Year, LighTopTech Corp., an active NSF SBIR Phase II grantee, is looking for an undergraduate student to participate in the REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) program. Please contact us if interested.
